MosqueMe — Content Sources & Takedown Notice
Last Updated: 22 April 2026 Document Version: 1.0
This page explains where the Quran, Hadith, Adhaan, Du'a, and other Islamic reference content in the MosqueMe App comes from, and how to flag something that looks wrong or raise a formal correction, attribution, or removal request.
To report a content issue, jump to [Section 4 — Requesting a Correction, Attribution Update, Restriction, or Removal](#4-requesting-a-correction-attribution-update-restriction-or-removal).
This Notice is a companion to the MosqueMe Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, and is incorporated into those Terms by reference. The copy published at https://help.mosqueme.com/content-notice and the copy bundled with the App at Settings → About & Legal → Content Sources & Takedown Notice are maintained as the same text. In the event of any conflict between a bundled copy on your device and the copy published on the MosqueMe website, the current website copy shall prevail.
1. What the App Includes
The App includes the following categories of reference content (together, "Reference Content"):
- Quran — Arabic text and English translation.
- Hadith — classical hadith collections, preserved through the established *isnad* (chain-of-transmission) tradition, with English renderings prepared by MosqueMe.
- Adhaan — the traditional call to prayer: the Arabic wording itself, and specific recordings of it.
- Du'a — supplications and devotional prayers.
- Dhikr and Tasbeeh — remembrance formulas and counting references.
- Other Islamic reference material — topic summaries, source notes, cross-references, and editorial descriptions.
Reference Content is made available for personal, devotional, educational, and non-commercial use. The App also includes visual media, icons, and audio used in supporting screens — those credits live on the Support / Credits page.
2. How Rights Status Works
Rights status varies from item to item. We do not claim that everything in the App is public domain, free to use, or fully licensed. The different categories are handled as follows:
- MosqueMe's own work. English renderings, topic summaries, source notes, editorial descriptions, and the way material is selected, arranged, and presented in the App are MosqueMe's own editorial work. They are protected under the MosqueMe Terms & Conditions §10.1 and are not free to copy, scrape, redistribute, or train AI or machine-learning models on without our prior written consent.
- Hadith renderings. MosqueMe prepares English hadith renderings from classical Arabic hadith source texts and cross-checks them against established Arabic-language scholarship (standard Sharh/commentary works and widely accepted isnad grading sources). We do not claim ownership of the original Arabic hadith texts, which are classical works. To the extent that any specific English rendering of an Arabic technical term is so constrained by the meaning of the source term that independent copyright does not subsist in it under UK law, no such claim is made. Where a hadith classification, isnad attribution, or source label is later found to be incorrect, we will correct it in the next scheduled content update.
- Classical source text. The original Arabic Quranic text, original Arabic hadith texts, and the traditional liturgical wording of the adhaan are classical Islamic source material and are not authored by MosqueMe.
- Third-party translations and editions. English and other translations, modern editions, commentaries, and recordings may be under licence from their translators, publishers, or rights-holders; those rights stay with them.
- Third-party and contributed material. Some items are provided by third-party publishers, translators, datasets, creators, recorders, or community contributors. Rights in those items may remain with the original author, translator, publisher, creator, recorder, or contributor.
- Licensed or contributed material. Some items are used under licence, permission, or community contribution, subject to the terms attached to that licence, permission, or contribution.
- Under review. Some legacy items may still be undergoing attribution, permission, or provenance review. Where a rights position is not yet confirmed, we keep the item under review and update credits, replace material, or remove it where appropriate.
Where a third-party author, translator, publisher, or rights-holder is known and relevant to the content shown, we provide attribution inside the App at Help → Content Credits & Attributions and on the website Credits page.
We make no representation or warranty as to the copyright status of any individual item of Reference Content, and we do not hold ourselves out as the original author, translator, or rights-holder of any third-party material unless expressly stated.
3. Good-Faith Basis
The App is a curated Islamic reference app, not a general user-upload hosting platform. We review and prepare the reference material ourselves rather than letting users post Islamic reference items for public distribution.
Reference Content is distributed on the following good-faith basis:
- We rely in good faith on licence, permission, attribution, and source information available from relevant rights-holders, licensors, contributors, reference sources, and original publishers.
- Where rights status is uncertain, or where a substantiated request is received, we use attribution, source review, correction, restriction, or removal as appropriate.
- Reference Content is not sold separately, licensed to third parties, or locked behind paid features. If this changes in the future, this Notice will be updated accordingly.
4. Requesting a Correction, Attribution Update, Restriction, or Removal
You may raise a correction, attribution update, restriction, or removal request — whether you are a user spotting an error, a translator, publisher, creator, recorder, or an authorised agent of a rights-holder — through any of the following channels:
- Email: support@mosqueme.com (for rights-holder correspondence, please use the subject line "Content Takedown").
- In the App: use the in-app support tools to report a content issue.
- By post (formal rights-holder correspondence): RK&RS INNOVATIONS LTD, Attn: Content Takedown, 163 Hammerman Drive, Aberdeen, Scotland, AB24 4SF, United Kingdom.
This correction and removal process, together with our in-app reporting tools and the procedures described in Terms §8.4–8.5, forms part of the user-reporting and complaints mechanism required under the UK Online Safety Act 2023 where applicable. This is a United Kingdom correction and removal process; MosqueMe has not registered a designated agent with the United States Copyright Office, and no U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act safe-harbour procedure is maintained (see Terms §10.3).
4.1 What to Include
To help us review a request quickly, please include:
- Your name and contact details (email and, where possible, postal address).
- Your relationship to the content — for example user, translator, publisher, creator, recorder, rights-holder, or authorised agent.
- A specific identification of the content in the App — collection, surah and ayah, hadith number, Du'a title, Tasbeeh/dhikr entry, Adhaan track name, or other precise identifier.
- A description of the rights you claim, with supporting evidence (registration certificate, publication record, licence agreement, ISBN, or similar).
- The specific remedy you seek — attribution correction, update of credits, temporary restriction, or removal.
- A signed or clearly confirmed statement that the information in the request is accurate and that you are the rights-holder or are authorised to act on the rights-holder's behalf.
4.2 How We Respond
On receipt of a properly formed request, we will:
- Acknowledge receipt within 7 business days.
- Where the claim appears substantiated on its face, temporarily suspend display of the affected content pending resolution.
- Respond substantively within 30 business days, either (a) correcting attribution, (b) removing or disabling access to the content in the App where appropriate, or (c) setting out our position if we decline the request.
We may decline requests that are frivolous, abusive, unsupported, or not made in good faith, or that relate to material that is clearly in the public domain, and we will explain our reasoning where reasonably practicable and legally permitted.
We retain records of correction and takedown requests for up to 6 years, in line with our Privacy Policy, to support audit, legal claims, and continuity of review. Responding to a request is not an admission of liability, wrongdoing, or infringement, nor a waiver of any rights or defences available to us.
4.3 Counter-Notice
If content you contributed has been removed and you believe the removal was in error, you may submit a counter-notice through the same channels set out above, including your evidence of rights or licence to contribute. We will review the counter-notice in good faith and may restore, amend, or maintain the removal as appropriate.
5. Attribution Corrections
If you believe that attribution shown within the App is incomplete or incorrect — for example, a translator's name is missing or misspelled — please report the issue via the in-app support tools or by emailing support@mosqueme.com. Attribution errors will be corrected in the next scheduled content update, and we are grateful to users who assist us in maintaining accurate credits.
6. This Sits Under Our Terms
This Notice forms part of the MosqueMe Terms & Conditions and is governed by the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom. Nothing in this Notice overrides your rights or our rights under the MosqueMe Terms & Conditions (including the governing-law and jurisdiction provisions in §20, and any mandatory consumer-protection or local-court rights those provisions preserve).
7. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time to reflect changes in content sources, attribution, or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. For material changes to the correction and removal process set out in Section 4, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice where reasonably practicable, in line with Terms §19.
