PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING MOSQUEME. BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, ACCESSING, OR USING THE APP, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN FULL. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT DOWNLOAD, INSTALL, OR USE THE APP.
1. Definitions
In these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"):
- "App" means the MosqueMe mobile application and all related in-app features, content, and services.
- "Content" means text, images, audio recordings, files, announcements, and any other material submitted to or generated within the App.
- "Mosque Admin" means a user granted administrative access to manage a mosque's prayer timetable, community notices, member access, services, and related features within the App.
- "Services" means all features, tools, and functionality made available through the App.
- "User Content" means any Content you create, upload, submit, post, or share through the App.
- "We / Us / Our" means RK&RS INNOVATIONS LTD, the company identified above, as developer and publisher of the App.
- "You / Your" means the individual user of the App.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using the App, you confirm that:
- You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
- You are of legal age in your jurisdiction to form a binding contract, or you have obtained valid parental or guardian consent.
- You have not previously been suspended or permanently removed from the App for violation of these Terms.
- Your use of the App complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your country or region of residence.
If you are using the App on behalf of an organisation (such as a mosque or charitable body), you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms on its behalf.
Where the App presents these Terms or links to these Terms during sign-in, onboarding, account creation, or an update flow, tapping Continue, Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, Sign in with another supported provider, Create Account, Accept, or similar confirmation means you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
3. Eligibility
The App is intended for users aged 13 and over. Users aged 13 to 17 may use the App only where they can lawfully do so. Where applicable law requires parental or guardian consent for a user's use of the App, the parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on that user's behalf.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that a user under 13 has provided personal data without legally required consent, we will take appropriate steps, including deleting that data.
Certain features within the App require additional eligibility criteria (including age, region, account state, or other feature settings) set within the App itself. Some features require explicit, informed in-app consent before they can be activated, including features that involve sensitive personal or health-related data. Certain sensitive features (including health-related tracking features) have a higher minimum age outside the United Kingdom — generally 16 — enforced in-app. The 13+ threshold set out in this Section 3 applies to users in the United Kingdom; users outside the United Kingdom may be subject to a higher feature-specific minimum age.
MosqueMe is launching in the United Kingdom only. The App is not listed for download in any European Economic Area (EEA) member state (the EU member states together with Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) through the Apple App Store or Google Play at this time. If we later launch in the EEA or in any EU member state, we will update these Terms, the Privacy Policy, eligibility rules, store disclosures, EU representative details, and any EU GDPR, Digital Services Act, or other EEA-specific disclosures required before that launch.
4. Account Registration and Security
4.1 Creating an Account
To access the App's features, you must create an account using a supported third-party authentication provider (such as Apple, Google, or another supported provider). By creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when prompted during sign-up or within your profile settings, and to keep that information up to date.
Authentication is handled by the respective third-party provider you select. We do not store your third-party provider password. After account creation, you may be asked to provide additional profile details such as a display name, phone number, date of birth, gender, and mosque selection where required for eligibility, safety, account setup, or feature operation.
4.2 Account Security
You are solely responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your authentication credentials and device access.
- All activity that occurs under your account, whether authorised by you or not.
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to or use of your account.
We are not liable for any losses resulting from unauthorised use of your account where you have failed to keep your credentials or device secure.
4.3 Internal Account Identifier
Upon registration, we may assign an internal account identifier to support account, security, and App operations. This identifier is not intended to publicly display your phone number or direct personal details.
4.4 One Account Per User
Each individual may maintain only one active account at any time. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension, ban, or restriction is strictly prohibited.
4.5 Account Accuracy
You must not impersonate any other person or entity or provide false identity information when creating or using your account.
5. Mosque Membership and Mosque Admin Accounts
5.1 Mosque Selection
You may link your account to a mosque to access mosque-specific prayer timetables, community announcements, ibadah features, and services. Prayer schedules and timetable data are managed by Mosque Admins and we cannot independently guarantee their accuracy or completeness. Always confirm critical prayer times directly with your mosque.
5.2 Mosque Admin Responsibilities
Mosque Admins accept the following responsibilities by using admin features:
- Ensuring the accuracy of prayer timetables and schedules they upload or edit within the App.
- Ensuring all announcements, posts, and content published through community feed functions comply with these Terms and applicable law.
- Managing member access appropriately and not granting admin access to unauthorised individuals.
- Complying with applicable data protection, privacy, and consumer protection laws when handling member data or community content.
- Not using admin features for personal gain, harassment, or any purpose contrary to community and religious standards.
Mosque Admins who misuse their access, post prohibited content, or violate these Terms may have their admin privileges suspended or permanently revoked without prior notice.
5.3 Mosque Admin Account Review
Mosque Admin accounts are subject to a review and approval process. We reserve the right to approve, reject, or revoke Mosque Admin access at our discretion. Approval does not constitute our endorsement of any mosque or its Mosque Admins.
5.4 Changing Your Mosque
You may change your linked mosque at any time in the App settings. Changing your mosque may affect your access to community features and prayer timetables associated with your previous mosque.
6. Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms and applicable law. You must not use the App in any way that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, threatening, or materially harmful to any person or organisation.
- Infringes the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, data protection rights, or any other rights of any third party.
- Violates any applicable local, national, or international law, regulation, or treaty.
- Harms, endangers, or could harm or endanger any individual, particularly minors.
- Is obscene, offensive, hateful, threatening, defamatory, or inflammatory toward any individual, group, religion, or community.
- Constitutes unsolicited advertising, promotional material, spam, or chain messages.
- Impersonates any person, organisation, or religious authority.
- Interferes with or disrupts the operation of the App, its servers, networks, or security systems.
- Introduces or transmits malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, or any other malicious or disruptive code.
- Involves the unauthorised harvesting or collection of user data, email addresses, or personal information.
7. Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct is expressly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account:
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App, its systems, other users' accounts, or Mosque Admin features.
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to extract source code or underlying algorithms from the App.
- Removing, obscuring, altering, or bypassing any proprietary notices, security controls, or access restrictions within the App.
- Using automated bots, scripts, scrapers, crawlers, or similar tools to collect data from the App or interact with the App's systems.
- Using the App to spread false, unverified, or misleading religious information, fabricated Hadith, or content that misrepresents Islamic belief or practice.
- Using community features to harass, threaten, intimidate, bully, or stalk any individual or group.
- Attempting to circumvent any security measures, account verification, or access controls.
- Selling, transferring, sublicensing, or otherwise commercially exploiting your account or any App content without our express written consent.
- Using the App in a way that is reasonably likely to cause material harm to the App, its users, or any associated mosque.
8. User-Generated Content
8.1 Ownership of Your Content
You retain ownership of User Content you create or upload. By submitting User Content to the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence — sublicensable only to our sub-processors and hosting providers strictly for the purposes set out below — to store, host, process, reproduce, distribute, and display that Content solely for the purpose of operating the App, delivering its Services, and complying with applicable legal obligations. This licence terminates when you delete the Content or your account, subject to any retention required by law or our Privacy Policy.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, including the moral-rights provisions in sections 77 to 85 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and similar laws, you waive, to the extent permitted by section 87 of that Act, and otherwise consent to, our reasonable technical formatting, resizing, cropping, previewing, moderation, removal, and display of User Content as needed to operate, protect, present, and maintain the App. This does not transfer ownership of your User Content.
8.2 Content Standards
All User Content must:
- Be truthful, accurate, and not misleading.
- Comply with all applicable laws, including defamation, copyright, and data protection law.
- Not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights.
- Not contain offensive, abusive, discriminatory, or religiously intolerant material.
- Not promote illegal activities, violence, extremism, or self-harm.
- Not include unsolicited advertising, commercial promotion, spam, or chain messages.
8.3 Moderation and Removal
We reserve the right (but not the obligation) to review, monitor, moderate, remove, restrict access to, or refuse to publish any User Content at any time and without prior notice if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, applicable law, or community standards. Mosque Admins may also moderate content within their mosque's community space.
For safety and abuse prevention, User Content and other submitted free-text fields may be reviewed by automated systems, third-party AI moderation providers, human reviewers, or a combination of these. Where an automated or AI-moderation system contributes to a decision that restricts your account, removes your content, or revokes Mosque Admin access, a decision producing legal or significant effects on you will not be made by automated means alone: you may request human review of that decision, express your point of view, and contest the outcome using the appeal process described in Section 17.4.
We do not intentionally send separate account records, emails, phone numbers, full profile records, mosque membership records, or internal account records to outside AI moderation. However, if you type personal data into a submitted free-text field, that submitted text may contain personal data and may be checked for safety. We may reduce or redact obvious contact details before outside moderation, but we cannot guarantee that every personal or sensitive detail you type into a free-text field will be removed.
Mosque Admins may use admin-only AI-assisted drafting tools. Prompts and drafts may be processed by third-party AI providers for that purpose. AI-generated drafts are suggestions only. Mosque Admins remain responsible for reviewing, editing, verifying, and approving content before publishing it. The human-review safeguard in the paragraph above applies to any significant decision affecting you that is materially driven by automated processing, including where an AI-assisted drafting, triage, or moderation tool contributes to the decision.
We are not liable for any User Content posted by users or Mosque Admins. User Content does not represent our views or opinions.
8.4 Reporting Inappropriate Content
If you encounter User Content, user behaviour, or an App interaction that you believe violates these Terms, please use the in-app reporting tools available inside the App or contact our support team.
You may stop unwanted interactions in several ways: use the in-app Report tool on a post, comment, or user; decline partner or community invitations through the in-app participant controls; leave a shared activity where that option is offered; and request that a Mosque Admin remove or restrict another member from the mosque community. Mosque Admins can ban members from their mosque, including where the ban has the effect of preventing further contact between members within that mosque. Together, these controls — reporting, declining, leaving, and admin-enforced removal and banning — are MosqueMe's method for filtering objectionable material and blocking abusive users within a mosque community. MosqueMe may additionally restrict, suspend, remove, or block accounts, User Content, in-app interactions, Mosque Admin access, or participation where reasonably necessary to protect users, mosques, or the App.
8.5 Report Review and Safety Response
We aim to review reports of objectionable content, abusive behaviour, unsafe interactions, or other serious safety concerns within 24 hours where reasonably practicable, and otherwise as promptly as reasonably possible. Urgent safety, legal, child-safety, harassment, or abuse reports may be prioritised. Depending on the issue, we may remove or restrict content, limit account access, disable in-app interactions, notify a Mosque Admin, preserve relevant records, or take other proportionate action.
The in-app reporting and complaint tools described in Sections 8.4 and 17.4, together with this Section 8.5, are our user-reporting and complaints mechanism for the purposes of the UK Online Safety Act 2023 where applicable.
9. Feature-Specific Terms
MosqueMe offers a set of Islamic, devotional, community, and mosque-related features within the App. Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed over time. The terms below apply to specific App functions regardless of how they are branded or named inside the App.
9.1 Prayer-Time Accuracy
Prayer times displayed in the App are generated from calculation methods, mosque-supplied schedules, or manual input. We do not independently verify the accuracy of prayer times. Always confirm prayer times directly with your mosque when precision is essential. We accept no liability for missed prayers or harm arising from incorrect or delayed prayer time information.
9.2 User-Uploaded Content
Some App functions allow you to create, record, or upload content — for example, audio you record or upload, text you submit, and other material you add to the App. By submitting such content, you confirm that:
- You have the legal right to use the content and that it does not infringe any third-party copyright or other rights.
- The content is of appropriate standard and does not breach these Terms or community standards.
- You consent to the content being stored on our servers and processed as needed to operate the App and deliver its functions.
- Where applicable, you understand that uploaded files may be checked for integrity and that supported speech-recognition, transcript, or similar processing may be performed by your device or by third-party device services, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to review and remove any uploaded content that does not comply with these Terms or community standards. The licence, moral-rights, and ownership provisions in Section 8.1 apply to all user-uploaded content.
9.3 Health, Cultural, and Religious Guidance
Some App functions provide personal tracking, planning, or informational tools relating to worship, health, wellbeing, sensitive health-related tracking, fasting, travel rulings, or similar personal, cultural, and religious matters. These functions are provided for personal self-improvement, worship planning, and App convenience only.
These functions do not constitute medical advice, clinical diagnosis, contraception advice, fertility advice, religious legal rulings, fatwas, or a substitute for guidance from a qualified healthcare professional or qualified Islamic scholar where you need one.
The sensitive health-related tracking functions in the App relate to a user's reproductive-health cycle data (menstrual and related cycle observations) and are provided for personal worship-planning (for example, fasting and prayer eligibility) only. These functions are sensitive by nature and are available only to users who meet the in-app eligibility criteria and provide explicit, informed consent before the function is activated. You may revoke your consent and disable the function at any time via the relevant in-app settings. Revoking consent will disable the function. Data deletion is subject to our Privacy Policy.
Sensitive health-related tracking functions are not intended to diagnose, prevent, monitor, predict, prognose, treat, or alleviate any disease, injury, disability, or medical condition. We do not supply them as a medical device under the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002 or, where applicable, Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices.
9.4 Mosque Notices, Services, and Community Workflows
Where the App provides community notices, service requests, community coordination workflows, or similar mosque-handled interactions, those interactions are community notice-and-workflow tools only. Posts, announcements, availability, eligibility, fulfilment, response times, external mosque-handled fees or deposits, refunds, documentation, and service decisions are determined and handled by the relevant mosque, Mosque Admin, mosque authority, or registered charity independently outside the App. Any non-binding expression of interest captured through a community coordination workflow is not a payment obligation, is not routed to any payment processor by MosqueMe, and does not create a contract to donate.
The App does not provide donate buttons, pay-now or pledge-to-pay buttons, in-app calls to donate, tap-to-pay actions, payment checkout, crowdfunding, donation processing, or any other in-app payment calls-to-action. Where an in-app community coordination control is labelled as a non-binding expression of interest, it is not linked to any payment processor, wallet, checkout, card-entry, or tap-to-pay action inside the App. Any bank-transfer details shown by a Mosque Admin are displayed as passive reference information only, are not linked to a payment flow inside the App, and are not provided, endorsed, or verified by MosqueMe. Where bank-transfer details are shown, they relate exclusively to real-world, off-app mosque services and charitable activity (such as physical facilities, in-person events, and community services delivered outside the App), and not to any digital good, App feature, or in-App subscription. Those details are intended to be the mosque's registered charity or official mosque bank account details, not MosqueMe's bank details, and Mosque Admins are responsible for ensuring that any bank details shown belong to the mosque, its registered charity, or its official mosque bank account.
MosqueMe does not collect, process, transfer, receive, hold, confirm, refund, or receipt donations, payments, pledges, service fees, or deposits in the App. We do not provide Apple Pay, Google Pay, card, wallet, bank-transfer, checkout, crowdfunding, donation processing, or money-transfer services in the App. MosqueMe is not a charity fundraiser, donation platform, payment processor, financial intermediary, trustee, broker, or agent for any mosque, mosque authority, registered charity, or donor. We are not a payment service provider within the meaning of the Payment Services Regulations 2017, an e-money institution under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011, nor a professional fundraiser within the meaning of the Charities Act 1992 or the Code of Fundraising Practice. Mosque notices, community posts, and service requests through the App do not form a contract between us and you in respect of any service, pledge, or donation handled by a mosque.
9.5 No Advertising and No Ad-Tracking
The App does not currently use third-party ad networks or personalised advertising. We do not perform cross-app advertising tracking. In the current Android release, we do not request the Advertising ID permission in the app manifest and do not use the Android Advertising ID (AAID) for advertising or cross-app tracking. If this changes in the future, we will update these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the relevant app-store data-safety disclosures accordingly.
9.6 Costs, Payments, and Future Paid Features
MosqueMe is currently free to download and use. We do not currently offer paid digital app features, in-app purchases, paid subscriptions, Apple Pay, Google Pay, card payments, wallet payments, or in-app checkout through the App.
We may introduce optional paid features, subscriptions, or premium services in the future. If we do, we will clearly explain the price, renewal terms, cancellation method, refund or restore information where applicable, and any affected features before you are charged. No paid subscription or paid digital feature will start unless you choose to subscribe or purchase through Apple In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing, or another method expressly permitted by the applicable app-store rules.
If a future paid feature unlocks digital App content, digital App functionality, or an App subscription on iOS or Android, we will use Apple In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing, or another method expressly permitted by the applicable app-store rules. Mosque-handled external services and community notices described in Section 9.4 are separate mosque or charity matters handled outside MosqueMe.
9.7 Service Availability
We aim to provide reliable and continuous access to the App but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Services may be temporarily unavailable due to planned maintenance, emergency updates, infrastructure issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses arising from temporary service unavailability.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Our Intellectual Property
All content, design elements, source code, branding, logos, trade marks, and features within the App (excluding User Content and third-party reference content) are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
This includes, without limitation:
- MosqueMe's plain-English Hadith renderings, chapter summaries, explanatory notes, and cross-references.
- MosqueMe's Quran-related editorial material, including topic summaries, thematic notes, search metadata, and curated references. This does not include the underlying Arabic Quranic text itself, nor any third-party Quran translation, which remain the property of their respective rights-holders or the public domain, as applicable.
- MosqueMe's learning and reference content structure, including topic organisation, lesson arrangement, curated selections, category design, and the compilation of Hadith, Du'a, dhikr, and devotional material shown within the App.
- All original Du'a, dhikr, and devotional editorial material prepared by MosqueMe.
MosqueMe asserts both authorship rights in the original editorial text and compilation / database rights in the selection, arrangement, and curation of material across the App. We reserve all rights under the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997 (SI 1997/3032) in respect of the selection and arrangement of material within the App.
You must not copy, extract, scrape, crawl, mirror, redistribute, republish, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, translate, publicly perform, publicly display, commercially exploit, train machine-learning or AI models on, or otherwise exploit any part of the App, its content, its editorial material, or its compilation without our prior written consent. This restriction applies whether the extraction is manual, automated, scripted, or AI-assisted. Classical Arabic Quranic text and classical Arabic Hadith text that are genuinely in the public domain remain in the public domain, but MosqueMe's editorial presentation, rendering, compilation, and curation of that material are not.
10.2 Feedback and Suggestions
If you voluntarily submit non-confidential ideas, feedback, or suggestions regarding the App or its Services, you agree that we may use non-copyrightable ideas, concepts, know-how, suggestions, or feature requests without compensation or obligation to you. If your feedback includes copyrightable text, screenshots, files, examples, or other materials, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, review, reproduce, and use that material only for support, evaluation, documentation, legal compliance, and improving or developing the App.
10.3 Third-Party Islamic Reference Content
Quran text, Hadith collections, Du'a, and other Islamic reference content within the App may be prepared by MosqueMe, reviewed against classical Arabic sources, or cross-checked with reputable public Islamic reference sources. Intellectual property rights in third-party source materials remain with their respective original publishers, compilers, translators, creators, or rights-holders. Where attribution or source information needs correction, we will review and update it.
Specifically:
- Quran — The original Arabic Quranic text is not authored by MosqueMe. Any English translation shown in the App remains subject to the rights and attribution of its translator, publisher, or rights-holder.
- Hadith collections — MosqueMe prepares its own English hadith renderings by translating directly from classical Arabic source texts, with reference checks against established Arabic-language scholarship. We do not reuse any third-party English hadith translation as the basis of our renderings, and we do not claim ownership of the original Arabic hadith texts, which are classical works. Supported collections include the Kutub al-Sittah, the Muwatta, major Musnad and Sunan collections, and widely used classical compilations, as listed from time to time in the App's Content Credits. To the extent that particular English renderings of specific Arabic technical terms are so constrained by the meaning of the source term that independent copyright does not subsist in them under UK law, no such claim is made.
- Du'a and devotional references — Du'a material is compiled and edited by MosqueMe from Quranic references, hadith references, and established devotional works. Source notes and references are shown where available and may be expanded or corrected over time.
Full attribution details are available within the App at Help → Content Credits & Attributions. If you are a rights-holder and believe content is being used improperly, please contact us via Settings → Support → Report a Problem so we can address it.
Our full Content Sources & Takedown Notice (including the good-faith basis on which Reference Content is made available, the limitations on any representations made regarding that content, and the process by which rights-holders may request correction or removal) is set out in the MosqueMe Content Sources & Takedown Notice, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and forms part of the agreement between you and us. A copy of that Notice is bundled with the App and available at Settings → About & Legal → Content Sources & Takedown Notice. We may also publish the Notice on the MosqueMe website.
Copyright, content-infringement, takedown, correction, and attribution notices should be sent to: RK&RS INNOVATIONS LTD, Attn: Content Takedown, support@mosqueme.com, or by post at 163 Hammerman Drive, Aberdeen, Scotland, AB24 4SF, United Kingdom. This is our current content-takedown contact for MosqueMe content issues. We are a United Kingdom company and have not registered a designated agent with the United States Copyright Office; accordingly, nothing in these Terms is intended to invoke, confer, or preserve any safe-harbour status under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) or to commit us to the counter-notice procedure set out in that statute. If we later register a DMCA designated agent, we will update this section and publish the registration details.
10.4 Trade Marks
"MosqueMe" and associated logos are our trade marks. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trade marks, trade names, or branding without our prior written consent.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available within the App at Settings → Legal → Privacy Policy and at https://help.mosqueme.com/privacy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference and forms part of the agreement between you and us.
For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, RK&RS INNOVATIONS LTD (Company No. SC810188) is the controller of personal data processed through the App. Our data-protection contact is privacy@mosqueme.com.
We process your personal data on the lawful bases set out in Article 6 of the UK GDPR (including, as applicable, performance of this contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the App, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where required). Special-category data, including health-related data processed by sensitive features, is processed only with your explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) of the UK GDPR or on another lawful basis permitted by that Article and Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act 2018. Further details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
You acknowledge and agree that we may process your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy in order to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the App and its Services.
Key points regarding your data:
- We collect only data necessary to operate the App and provide requested features.
- You have rights to access, correct, delete, and manage your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Sensitive features (including those that process health-related or other special-category data) require explicit consent and provide in-app privacy controls.
- You may request account deactivation or deletion at any time via Settings → Account Actions. You may also request account deletion through our public deletion page at https://help.mosqueme.com/delete-account without reinstalling the App.
12. Push Notifications and Communications
By enabling push notifications, you consent to receive:
- Prayer time alerts and prayer reminders from your mosque.
- Community announcements and posts from your linked mosque's Mosque Admins.
- Service updates, support responses, and account-related notifications.
- System updates and app improvement notices.
You may withdraw consent for notifications at any time via Settings → Notification Settings or your device settings. Withdrawal does not affect notifications already delivered. We do not send unsolicited commercial messages.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
The App uses third-party infrastructure and services to operate, including major cloud infrastructure, push-notification services, and platform operating-system services. The specific providers and categories of processing are described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies, and we encourage you to review those policies independently.
The App may also use outside moderation, speech-recognition, text-reading, or AI assistance providers for the limited purposes described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
The App may contain links to third-party websites, resources, or content. We are not responsible for the content, availability, accuracy, or privacy practices of those third-party destinations. Accessing third-party links is at your own risk.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
Nothing in this Section 14 excludes or restricts the statutory quality, fitness-for-purpose, description, or other non-excludable rights you have in digital content under sections 34, 35, and 36 of the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, or any equivalent mandatory consumer-protection rights under the laws of your country of residence. Those rights apply in addition to any express provision of these Terms, and the disclaimers below are read subject to them.
Subject to the paragraph immediately above, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- THE APP AND ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
- WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND TITLE.
- WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE FREE FROM ERRORS, BUGS, SECURITY VULNERABILITIES, MALWARE, INTERRUPTIONS, OR DEFECTS, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
- WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, OR SUITABILITY FOR ANY PURPOSE OF PRAYER TIMES, DIRECTIONAL OR POSITIONAL READINGS, ISLAMIC REFERENCE CONTENT, OR ANY OTHER OUTPUT OR FEATURE OF THE APP.
- WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS.
The App is not an emergency service. Do not rely on the App for emergency communications, urgent medical help, safeguarding emergencies, law-enforcement contact, or any situation where delay could create risk of harm.
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES HOWSOEVER CAUSED, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP OR ANY SERVICES.
- THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFIT, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES.
- OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF GBP 100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DIRECTLY TO US FOR MOSQUEME IN THE TWELVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE RELEVANT CLAIM.
The above limitations apply regardless of the form of action, theory of liability (whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise), and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- (c) our liability under section 46 of the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 for damage to your device or other digital content caused by our lack of reasonable care and skill;
- (d) our liability under sections 42 or 43 of that Act for digital content that does not conform to the statutory quality, fitness, or description requirements; or
- (e) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights or remedies you may have under sections 33 to 47 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This includes, for the avoidance of doubt, the remedies (such as repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund) available under sections 43 and 44 of that Act, and any other mandatory consumer-protection law relating to digital content.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless us, our officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against third-party claims, actions, proceedings, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:
- Your breach of any provision of these Terms.
- Your unlawful User Content.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Your infringement of any third party's rights, including intellectual property rights and privacy rights.
This indemnity applies only to third-party claims and only to the extent permitted by applicable law. It does not limit your mandatory consumer rights.
17. Account Suspension and Termination
17.1 Account Actions Available to You
You may take the following account actions at any time via Settings → Account Actions:
- Deactivate account (temporary): Temporarily deactivates your account. Your data is preserved and you may reactivate by signing back in at any time.
- Delete account: Submits a permanent account deletion request. A 30-day grace period applies, during which your account can be restored through the in-app restoration flow before final deletion begins. After the grace period, permanent deletion processing begins as described in our Privacy Policy.
17.2 Suspension or Termination by Us
We may suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your access to the App and any or all Services where reasonably necessary, including without prior notice where urgent action is needed, if:
- You breach or we reasonably suspect you have breached these Terms.
- We reasonably believe your account has been used in connection with illegal, harmful, or abusive activity.
- We are required to do so by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
- We determine that your continued use poses a material risk to other users, Mosque Admins, mosques, or the integrity of the App.
17.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination or suspension, your right to use the App and access its Services ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, and indemnification) shall remain in full force and effect. We will process any remaining data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
17.4 Reasons and Appeals
Where we remove or restrict User Content, disable an in-app interaction, suspend Mosque Admin access, or restrict, suspend, or terminate an account, we will provide a brief statement of reasons where reasonably practicable and legally permitted. We may withhold or limit reasons where disclosure would create a safety, security, abuse-prevention, legal, or investigation risk.
You may appeal a moderation, content, interaction, Mosque Admin, suspension, restriction, or termination decision within 30 days by contacting support@mosqueme.com or using the in-app support tools. Please include your account details, the decision you are appealing, and any relevant context. We aim to respond to appeals within 14 days unless the case is complex, urgent safety or legal review is needed, or applicable law allows more time. We will review appeals in good faith and may uphold, vary, or reverse the original decision.
18. Modifications to the App and Services
We may add, modify, suspend, or permanently discontinue any feature, function, or aspect of the App or its Services where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, maintenance, product improvement, or operational reasons. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App or any Service, except where liability cannot legally be excluded. We will endeavour to give reasonable advance notice of significant changes where practicable.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may revise and update these Terms from time to time where reasonably necessary. Valid reasons for changes may include legal, regulatory, app-store, safety, security, abuse-prevention, technical, operational, provider, content-source, payment-rule, or App feature changes, or corrections and clarifications that make these Terms clearer without unfairly reducing your rights.
When we update these Terms, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and provide in-app notification of material changes. For material changes that materially affect your rights or use of the App, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice where reasonably practicable. Your continued use of the App following the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may stop using the App and, if you wish, delete your account before the changes take effect.
20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland, you may bring legal proceedings in respect of these Terms in the sheriff court for your local sheriffdom or in the Court of Session, as the case may be. If you are a consumer resident in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland, you may bring legal proceedings in respect of these Terms in the courts of your home jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident outside the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights or mandatory court-jurisdiction rights you have under the laws of your country of residence. Subject to those rights, the courts of Scotland shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the App.
21. Dispute Resolution
We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any dispute or concern informally. Please use the in-app support tools to raise your issue, and we will endeavour to resolve it within a reasonable time. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days of being raised, either party may pursue formal legal proceedings in accordance with Section 20.
We are not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme and do not currently agree to use any specific ADR provider unless required by law or agreed by us in writing. If applicable law requires us to provide information about a certified ADR provider after a complaint cannot be resolved through our internal process, we will provide that information at the relevant time.
Nothing in this section prevents you from seeking emergency injunctive relief or from bringing a claim in the small claims court (or equivalent) of your local jurisdiction.
22. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms where such delay or failure results from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, governmental actions, Internet outages, or third-party service provider failures.
23. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in whole or in part, that provision shall be deemed severed from the remainder of these Terms, which shall continue in full force and effect as if such provision had never been included. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
24. Waiver
No failure or delay by us in exercising any right, power, or remedy under these Terms shall operate as a waiver of that right, power, or remedy. A single or partial exercise of any right shall not preclude any other or further exercise of that or any other right.
25. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies, guidelines, or notices published within the App from time to time, constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements, arrangements, representations, warranties, and understandings between you and us relating to the same subject matter.
26. Additional Legal Terms
26.1 Assignment
You may not assign, transfer, or delegate your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to an affiliate, successor, acquirer, or other organisation as part of a merger, restructuring, sale, transfer, or similar business change, provided this does not materially reduce your mandatory consumer rights.
26.2 Notices
We may provide notices to you through the App, email, push notification, account messages, our website, or other reasonable means. Formal notices to us should be sent to support@mosqueme.com or to the postal address listed in Section 27 unless a specific feature, policy, or legal notice says otherwise.
26.3 No Agency
Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, agency, fiduciary, trustee, fundraising-agent, payment-agent, or representative relationship between you and us, or between us and any mosque, Mosque Admin, registered charity, donor, or service requester.
26.4 Beta and Experimental Features
Some features may be released as beta, experimental, limited-release, pilot, or preview features. These features may be incomplete, unavailable in some regions, subject to additional notices, changed, restricted, or withdrawn where reasonably necessary. Do not rely on beta or experimental features for urgent, medical, legal, religious-ruling, safeguarding, payment, or emergency decisions.
